KS1 Teaching Assistant
We’re looking for a supportive KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school from September 2026. You’ll work across Year 1 and Year 2, providing general classroom support, small‑group interventions and occasional 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
Pay: £14.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with daily routines and learning activities
- Deliver small‑group work in phonics, reading, writing and maths
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND when required
- Support pupils during lessons as well as unstructured times such as break and lunchtime.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals.

- Experience working with children in educational or care settings (school-based experience desirable).
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding practices.
- Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.

Safeguarding Requirements
All applicants must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one) and be registered on the DBS Update Service. Candidates will be required to provide a minimum of five years’ references and successfully pass all safeguarding checks.
