Job Description: 1:1 Teaching Assistant KS1

Start Date: September (or earlier for the right candidate)

Location: L6 Liverpool
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Hourly rate : £14.50- £15+ per hour dependent on experience (plus holiday pay)

A supportive primary school in the L6 area is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Year 1 or Year 2 who has Autism. This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, nurturing, and confident supporting children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Follow individual support plans and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Encourage independence and confidence

Requirements

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and consistency in supporting routines
  • Relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
