Description

Our Client is looking for passionate and motivated support assistants to join an amazing team. The SEN School we are working with caters for children aged 2 – 11 years who have severe or profound learning and/or physical needs, including complex autism.

We are looking for engaging individuals who have the desire, drive and enthusiasm to make a difference to pupils’ lives and who can make an immediate contribution to the way pupils learn and interact. They should be dynamic in their approach to making learning fun and accessible for all pupils.

The successful candidates will work with a talented and friendly staff team who are both forward thinking and innovative, and who have high expectations of themselves and the pupils they support.

At this School no two days are ever the same. Some days are challenging, most days are fun and every day is rewarding.

  • Location: Liverpool, L27
  • 32 hours per week, 8:45am to 3:30pm Tuesday to Friday / 8:45am to 5pm Mondays (each fortnight)
  • Pay: £14 - £15 per hour, depending on experience
  • Start: ASAP

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Good levels of literacy/numeracy, level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Good communication skills – written and oral
  • Understand how children learn and be able to support
  • Learning across all areas of the curriculum
  • Support pupils to become as independent as possible
  • Assist pupils with physical needs and personal care
  • Experience of working in a challenging environment
  • Carry out physical intervention and/or restraint when necessary in accordance with the school’s positive management policy
  • Support pupils in maintaining good standards of health & hygiene

All applicants must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered on the DBS update service. Candidates will be asked to provide a minimum of five years references and successfully pass all safeguarding checks
