Project Worker - Young Carers

Project Worker position working with Young Carers between the ages of 5 years and 14 years in Sefton & St. Helens areas. Based within a charity and working within primary school settings. 

Temp/Perm
3 month temporary contract. Possibility to lead to permanent position.

Salary
£7.50 per hour

Days
5 days per week. Occasional weekend work.

Total hours per week
37 hours per week. 

Main Duties

• To assist in the development and delivery of support to younger Young Carers.
• To reach those children impacted by caring responsibilities and a very young age. 
• To work closely with Childrens Centres and Primary Schools.
• To identify 'hidden' Young Carers and work with them in accordance with Every Child Matters
• To deliver services to provide a break from caring responsibilities & help develop life skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant qualification in Early Years or Childhood Studies Eg. NNEB, BTec, NVQ Level 3, Foundation Degree, BA Hons
• Full Driving license
• Previous experience with children between the ages of 5 and 14 years
• Knowledge of child protection
