Ofsted Inspections Show Improvements

Ofsted’s published data on childcare inspection outcomes, for the period from end of September to end of December 2009 show an improvement in results, particularly for child carers on domestic premises.

However, the Ofsted figures also show that the total number of childcare places in England has dropped by 11,000 in three months. This is thought to be as a result of the recession which has taken its toll on early years providers.
